The first blog, but what should I write?

I can’t believe how hard it is to come up with an idea for a blog, ten minutes ago I had a head full of ideas but now I’m in front of the computer and I can’t think of anything to write. I decided to start writing this blog just to expel the nonsense out of my head, in the background I’m listening to the radio, more noise and thought pollution clouding my ideas.

I’ve just heard a writer being interviewed, he said that writer’s block was  nonsense that it was really laziness, “just sit and write” he said. I can see how people could have a block, I’m sure I suffer from it, but taking this advice on board I decided to write this just to see if the statement was unfair or the kick I needed.

So far I would have to say that it was one of the kicks I needed, writing this has started to spark other ideas already and although you cant see it I have gone back and corrected the beginning of this numerous times as the ideas started to flow, although I have left the first paragraph alone so the sense of why I started this in the first place is not lost.

Trying to come up with ideas of what to write is much harder than I first thought. I have read other blogs and it looks like they just write straight from their head to screen, I cant do this. I’ll mull over an idea for days, make sure I know enough about it so no one can dispute the information I give. The problem with this is the more research I do the more I talk myself out of writing the blog or article at all. I’m not sure if this is a common problem? Maybe I should just write whatever comes to me and let people criticise it, learn from it and just get the writing practice.

Out of desperation I did a Google search, “what to blog about“, the first item returned was from the  “…. for dummies” title, I instantly saw this as a sign and swiftly moved on. There really is no answer to that question, it just happens, but it wont happen if you just sit around and think about it you have to just start writing even if its nonsense. I think.
